Week 15 - Chickenpox

Week 15 and for the third Wednesday in a row we were sent home with no transfusion. I almost gave them a piece of my mind for having me travel all this way week after week, just to go back home “empty handed” when I realized “Hey, empty handed in these circumstances is good, not bad.”

They only need 2ml to do the basic tests, but even that isn’t as straight forward as one would think. Continue reading ‘Week 13 - Wednesday Ritual’

Week 12 - Early Days

No improvement, but as I said in my previous posts, it is to be expected. Lliam’s platelet count is the same as last week, 19 (s/b min 150). His hemoglobin dropped a few points, but luckily far less than the previous week. The neutrophils also dropped a bit, but there seems to be enough left to keep him from contracting the cold Jahna has had for the past few days. Continue reading ‘Week 12 - Early Days’
